California Wildfires Update

Posted 08/26/2020

The LNU Lightning Complex fires continue to rage through Northern California’s wine growing region, leaving many vineyards in a difficult position due to COVID restrictions and, now, evacuations. Fire crews have been working tirelessly to keep the flames at bay and the area’s iconic vineyards, wineries and tasting rooms in operation. Nevertheless it may be a challenging year for harvest as wine producers determine how to handle the logistics of harvest operations while under pandemic and wildfire constraints.

Regarding transportation, we are seeing delays due to these wildfires, especially as they’ve compromised the integrity of some bridges and roadways. Evacuations have also caused slowdowns as congestion increases on the highways.

Our thoughts go out to all those who have been displaced by the fires, and we hope for a safe and speedy recovery for California’s wine producing regions. As always, we will monitor this situation closely and provide updates as available.
