Storms in North Europe Cause Delays

Posted 02/17/2022

Northern Europe braces itself as meteorologists are calling for a series of severe storms to hit in the next several days. In Germany, strong winds have already topped trees, downed power lines, delayed air and rail traffic and killed at least three people. Rail service in Scotland and parts of England and the Netherlands has been cancelled due to the heavy winds, and a red weather warning (the highest level) has been issued for parts of Southern England and Wales.

Ports and inland terminals across North Europe are also closed and operations temporarily suspended until the storm passes. Container pickups and deliveries will not be able to take place. Transport delays are to be expected due to these severe storms, so please plan for additional time if you have cargo coming out of the region.

We hope for the safety of all of our members and colleagues who may be in the path of these storms. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out.
