Protect Your Cargo from Temperature Extremes

Posted 06/01/2023

Outside temperatures are rising as the summer season approaches.

Now is the time to make sure your cargo is protected from heat damage!

The WSSA policy offers Optional Temperature Coverage (OTC), which covers losses due to extremes in temperature – overheating or freezing – for cargo shipped in insulated containers.

The safest means of avoiding a heating or freezing problem is to ship in a temperature controlled container. However, if cost and availability of these containers is an issue, shipping in an insulated container is a prudent substitute for cargo protection!
