Strike and Strong Winds Suspend Operations in Genova

Posted 12/21/2016

Our offices in Italy have informed us that Genova terminal VTE is experiencing congestion and delays due to a strike. Operations ceased and the strike began Monday after a terminal worker lost his life to an on-the-job accident. Port operations were expected to resume Tuesday, but were again suspended due to strong winds that have continued through today. The terminal is expected to open later this evening with normal operations.

We are working with our partners in Italy to mitigate any shipment delays due to this work stoppage. We will keep you informed of any changes to the situation. As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
