We received good news from our Chilean offices this morning that the port authorities and port workers at San Antonio have finally reached an agreement. The strike that began nearly two weeks ago has been officially concluded.

The port's normal activities resumed today at 8:00am, with vessel departures scheduled and cargo flowing smoothly.

According to latest information received from San Antonio Terminal, today began an indefinite strike of dockworkers from 6 labor unions because the parties failed to reach an agreement. Additionally, the terminal reported a strike of SAG workers today and from customs officials beginning Thursday, September 8th.

Please note that the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) in Chile has called for a national strike on September 7th, 2016.  

The work stoppage is only for one day but will effect the flow of normal port operations.

We will keep you informed should this situation change or develop.
