Mexico is currently facing a significant security crisis following a major federal operation in Tapalpa, Jalisco. Unconfirmed reports indicate the possible death of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes (“El Mencho”), triggering widespread narco-bloqueos (cartel roadblocks) across at least eight states.

Violence began early Sunday morning, prompting Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus to activate “Code Red,” placing state and local forces under unified federal command.

• Guadalajara: Multiple vehicles hijacked and burned at major intersections.
• Puerto Vallarta: Over 10 vehicles torched, public transportation suspended, and the international airport temporarily closed.
