Hurricane Debby Port Closures

Posted 08/05/2024

Hurricane Debby made landfall earlier this morning in Florida’s Big bend area with winds of 80mph and a predicted storm surge over 10 feet. Given that, many of the state’s ports are closed.

Port Tampa Bay, Port St. Pete, Port of Key West, Seaport Manatee and Port of Port St. Joe are closed waterside. Port Panama City is open with restrictions, no inbound vessels. Port Fernandina, and JAXPORT are open and preparing for potential storm impacts. All other seaports are open.

The Georgia Ports Authority has announced all Georgia ports are currently open, but they continue to monitor the storm track and will determine later today if an early shutdown of port operations is necessary.

The Governor of South Carolina declared a state of emergency and the state has begun preparing for its potential impact. SC port and terminals are currently open with regular hours.
