In an update on the Greenland purchase negotiations, after a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Trump posted today on Truth Social stating, "Based upon this understanding, I will not be imposing the tariffs that were scheduled to go into effect on February 1st." While details of the meeting have not yet been disclosed, we will continue to monitor and provide updates accordingly.
In other tariff news, there has been no change to Trump's threat to hit French wine with a 200% tariff. The tariff threat is in effort to urge French President Emmanuel Macron to join his Board of Peace initiative. Again, this is a situation that we are monitoring closely, and will provide updates as available.
